A great lithophane starts with a great photograph. The quality of your image will be reflected in the quality of the finished lithophane. If your image is low resolution, out of focus, or has bad lighting, these defects will be reflected in the final lithophane. We retouch the images you send to help insure a high quality, stunning lithophane, but starting with the best image possible is paramount to producing a lithophane you will be happy to display in your home or give as a gift.
To help insure the best possible quality for your lithophane, please follow these guidelines
- Image needs to be sharp, in-focus
- Balanced contrast and lighting
- Highest resolution possible
- Export largest pixel size your device provides
- Use JPG or PNG format
- Choose quality option of 80 to 90 percent, if available
In short, the more detail and the better the original photo looks, the better your personalized lithophane will look. A dull, out of focus image will produce a dull, out of focus lithophane. A low resolution image (low pixel count) will produce a lithophane with less detail.
